MARINA IN TROGIR UNDER SNOW

This winter is anything but normal Dalmatian winter. Last year in
February we had almonds in bloom and this year we have ice and snow.
A winter storm left Trogir blanketed in snow overnight and
meteorologists say that was the most violent snow storm in fifty
years. Things were so severe that all schools and the entire city
administration were automatically closed. On the Adriatic coast snow
is far from being a common occurrence. Given the rarity of the
event, the local population, and young children in particular, are
enjoying the snow and the unexpected day off. Snowmen have been
built and some people have even been seen skiing through city
streets. While the cold weather and abundant snow has been one of
the main news topics in recent days, and locals have enjoyed the
site of snowmen in unusual places, the general feeling is that it
will be nice to return to warmer climes and some good old Dalmatian
sunshine.
The trade fair city Tulln on the Danube has been presenting the Austrian
Boat Show for 40 years. More than 45,000 visitors come each year from
Austria and abroad to enjoy the attractions of the trade fair and its host
city. For 2012 BOOT TULLN promises even more excitement, more show and more
enthusiasm – a trade fair of the highest order. The Austrian Boat Show is
“THE” most important nautical trade fair for Austria and the Central and
Eastern European region.
Since it takes place at the beginning of March, the trade fair in Tulln will
be able to present all the latest developments in the nautical sector,
immediately after BOOT Düsseldorf. Sailing and motor yachts, grand sailboats
and turbo jet boats, nautical equipment, sporty catamarans, kayaks, canoes,
rubber rafts and dinghies will be on display. There will also be a unique
range of nautical equipment. Everything to meet the needs of yachtsman,
along with charter organisers, sailing schools, marinas and tourist
information about the best nautical destinations will round off the
spectrum.

Our guests and dear friends, Mr. Ulrich Altstetter and his crew Wolfgang
Boric, Reinhard Wührmann and Jorgen Groneberg from South Germany were
fishing out of Senja in Northern Norway when they landed a world record
halibut to be caught on rod and line. Congratulations guys and thank You
for nice photos. We look forward to welcoming you back to Croatia in the

- smashing the previous world record by an impressive 26.4 kg.
